The Players Tribe interview with C/O 2022 guard Chauncey Gibson of Dallas Showtyme (AAU) & Kimball High School.

PT: Your recruitment has obviously been on the rise these last few weeks! What colleges have you been in contact with lately?

CG: “Oklahoma State, Uconn, Vermont, SMU, and more”

PT: Any planned visits?

CG: “Nah”

PT: So, I know that you are a returning senior this year at Kimball & finishing up AAU with Dallas Showtyme. Is there a sense of loyalty that you have for these programs & what kind of legacy would you like to leave at Kimball?

CG: “I am most definitely loyal because that's where I'm blowing up at so, why not stay! A legacy I want at Kimball is to have my jersey retired and put another state banner on the wall”

PT: That’s awesome, let's talk about your game! How would you describe your game? What is a college coach getting from Chauncey Gibson?

CG: “I grew up playing point guard. a lot of ppl wouldn't know that unless you really know me. That's why I see the floor better than average. I grew up competing against my older brother who went d1 in 2015 from Kimball as well. Everything was a competition for us. He prepared me for these moments we are going through right now. He always told me how serious I had to be to want to play this game at the highest level so you are getting a lot from me.”

PT: Which parts of your game would you say are your strengths & weaknesses?

CG: “strengths-shooting, playmaking, being a leader, defense. Weakness-rebounding.”

PT: What are some of your personal & team goals for AAU & school ball?

CG: “Personally I want to be able to finish this live period strong & I want to win a state championship next year. For team goals, I want to get all of my teammates' big offers. I don't want to be the only one eating, I want my whole team to eat!”

PT: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

CG: “NBA!”
